Really great sandwich but staff could try to smile occasionally. I often feel like I'm inconveniencing them but the sandwich is worth the attitude.
Great sandwiches- honestly reminds me a lot of Schlotzky's. Locally owned and always seems to have a line. Good food and shabby atmosphere.
I know most of us all feel we make the perfect and best tasting sandwiches, right! It's not hard to do, it's a just sandwich, right? So why would we venture into a small Sandwich Shop Institution in Beaufort SC that has been here for decades when we can go home and eat the perfect sandwich we made ourselves? Because we cannot top the tingle in our taste buds, the moist pleasure in your mouths, the pure sensation that overwhelms our senses with each bite of a sandwich, done just right (thanks, Goldie Locks)! Nor the relaxation we can all feel by simply letting Alvin Ord's do it for us! Their motif is done in that Classic Takeout Counter, circa 1950. Yes, that funky, it's not quite brown, I think it's wood, paneling that most of us have left behind in a basement recreation room with a pool table in a long ago memory. But strangely, it's familiar, like a favorite old chair, comfortable because it brings us back to that forgotten memory which helps put a warm smile on our face expressing how happy we were in those moments, or maybe looking all around us makes us laugh to ourselves, "what were they thinking?" Either way, it can remind most how much our fashion sense has improved with our golf shirts, shorts, cross trainers, and no socks. Yea, we have really have developed a keen sense of style, haven't we? Of course not you Ladies, ah Women, I'm only talkin about us guys here because we all know, "ya'll, got it going on!" So maybe, just maybe, a delicious sandwich, a glide down memory lane in a comforting emotion from our past is enough for today because it just makes you feel delight, for whatever reason. Maybe we get to feel like a kid again in every mouth watering bite. Stop by Alvin Ord's, and soak it all in. I know it's been a while but your Time Machine of flavor awaits. Enjoy
Don't let the outside of this place fool you! Inside is super small but the service is quick. The rolls are baked fresh in house and have a layer yummy cheese baked on the inside. We got the small salvation and the Beaufort Philly. Both were warm and delightfully crunchy on the edges. Plenty of fillings.
Great food, fast service during peak lunchtime. I came in around 11:20 am and quickly was served by the polite staff. The sizes of the French loafs they use are right beside the register for small/medium/large sandwiches. There's a menu at the counter as well for all of their sandwich creations! Very tasty and filling! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and coworkers!
